MTA provides geotechnical services for record water main replacement project
Under subcontract to GDM, MTA provided geotechnical services to Middlesex Water Company for replacement of a critical water main beneath the Raritan River in New Jersey.
The project included the installation of 5,365 feet of 24 inch diameter FPVC pipe using horizontal directional drilling. MTA performed both land and water-based borings,
and laboratory strength and identification testing.
Richard D. Lev, C. P. G. approved as Licensed Site Remediation Professional (LSRP) by NJDEP
To help clients address the sweeping changes to environmental regulations implemented by NJDEP as
part of the Site Remediation Reform Act (SRRA), Richard D. Lev, C. P. G. has been approved by NJDEP as
a LSRP. MTA is providing LSRP Services to clients that require remedial approval as part of site
redevelopment.
Melick-Tully and Associates, P.C. issued indoor environmental consultant license by New Jersey Department of Health and Senior Services (NJDHSS)
The New Jersey Department of Health and Senior Services (NJDHSS) has granted MTA an Indoor
Environmental Consultant License to perform indoor environmental health assessments (IEHAs) in child
care centers and educational facilities. Existing, new, or proposed child care centers, as well as certain
educational facilities undergoing renovations or additions, are required to perform an IEHA in order to
obtain a safe building interior certification from NJDHSS. MTA has assisted numerous child care and
educational facilities in obtaining approvals from NJDHSS.

MTA presents "Understanding Geotechnical Reports and Designs" in White Plains, New York
For the second consecutive year, Ray Tully and Todd Horowitz presented a full day seminar entitled "Understanding Geotechnical Reports and Designs" at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in White Plains, New York. The seminar provided six hours of New York State Continuing Education credits for both the engineers and architects. Topics included an introduction to Basic Soil Mechanics, an overview of the geology of the New York Metro area and why geology is important to the planning and execution of geotechnical investigation, design of shallow foundations, deep foundations, retaining walls and ground improvement. Lastly, discussions on the selection of geo-consultants, scope development, and understanding geotechnical reports were covered.
